Dr. Nyagah K. Thomas is a distinguished professional in Research, Monitoring, Evaluation, and
Learning (MEL), with over 20 years of comprehensive experience. Based in Nairobi, Kenya, he
seamlessly combines scholarly insights with practical expertise across a broad spectrum of sectors,
such as natural resource management, water and sanitation, climate change, community
development, humanitarian efforts, conflict prevention, peacebuilding, governance, and more. His
work also addresses areas like youth and women empowerment, civil society strengthening,
community security, disaster risk mitigation, and healthcare.
Dr. Nyagah holds a PhD in Management Sciences, specializing in Monitoring and Evaluation, from
Durban University of Technology, South Africa. He is also a co-founder, Senior Researcher, and M&E
Specialist at the Centre for Analytical Research in Development Limited (CARD Ltd), where he plays a
key role in the design, planning, monitoring, and evaluation of impactful projects.
